About Us
Melanie and John Wheeler
The Bargain Barn Story
Bargain Barn was founded by John Wheeler with the goal of offering a large selection of durable products at affordable prices. John had been in the self-storage business for several years, working with clients to understand their needs and find solutions. In 2018, he decided to go into business for himself to serve the needs of the community while building lasting relationships with his clients.
Bargain Barn started as a locally-owned business and through hard work and old time customer service has expanded to reach across the Wabash Valley and beyond.
Dave Slater has worked with the Wheelers for about three years. He is retired and has many years of experience working in management and customer service, which he utilizes well in working one-on-one with clients to meet their individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
These are a few of the questions we get most often at Bargain Barn. If yours isn’t among them, send us a note on our contact page, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
How much room is needed to place my building?
We will need an opening 2‘ wider than the building to be able to navigate. Example: if you purchase a building that is 10‘ wide we will need a path that is 12‘ wide to get the building where it needs to be.
What if I have a fence around my property?
The customer will be responsible for removing enough fence and posts to get the building through. We do offer build on site as well for an additional fee.
Do I need a base for my building to set on?
If your land is within a few inches of level our smaller buildings can be placed on the ground. We do need the customer to have some paver blocks on site for the driver to use in leveling the building. We will let you know how many to have at time of purchase. However, for any building 12×20 or larger, we highly recommend a premium pad. The pad should be of #53’s rock or road pack and should be packed and laser–level. This will keep your building from shifting and keep your windows and door in working order.
Do I need a permit to place a building on my property?
It is the customers responsibility to check with the city or county on any permits, zoning requirements, codes or any permission needed prior to delivery.
Is there an extra charge for delivery of my building?
Delivery is included with some exclusions. See dealer for details
What if you don't have a building on your lot the color or size I need?
All of our buildings can be special ordered in your choice of color and size. We have a wide selection of colors available to choose from. Our special order buildings are delivered in a timely manner.
